The drive shaft is composed of a shaft tube, a telescopic sleeve and a universal joint. The telescopic sleeve can automatically adjust the change of the distance between the transmission and the drive axle. The universal joint is to ensure the change of the angle between the transmission output shaft and the drive axle input shaft, and to realize the constant angular velocity transmission of the two shafts.
Universal Joint
The universal joint is a key component of the automobile drive shaft. It is installed between the front axle half shaft and the wheels, which is responsible for both driving and steering. When the vehicle is running, the uneven road surface will cause bounce, load changes, or the difference in the installation position of the two assemblies will cause the angle and distance between the transmission output shaft and the input shaft of the drive axle final reducer to change. "Strain" device to solve this problem, so there is a universal joint.
The universal joint drive must have the following characteristics:
A, to ensure that the relative position of the connected two shafts changes within the expected range, can reliably transmit power;
B, to ensure that the connected two shafts can run evenly. The additional load, vibration and noise caused by the angle of the universal joint shall be within the allowable range;
c. High transmission efficiency, long service life, simple structure, convenient manufacture and easy maintenance.
Telescopic sleeve
The traditional structure of the transmission shaft telescopic sleeve is to weld the spline sleeve and the flange fork together, and the spline shaft is welded on the transmission shaft tube. The new transmission shaft changes the traditional structure, the spline sleeve and the transmission shaft tube are welded into one body, and the spline shaft and the flange fork are made into one body. And the rectangular tooth spline is changed into a large pressure angle involute short tooth spline, which not only increases the strength but also facilitates extrusion forming, so as to meet the needs of large torque working conditions.
Shaft sleeve
The shaft sleeve is designed to reduce the friction and wear during shaft movement. The basic purpose is the same as the bearing, and the relative cost is cheaper, but the friction resistance is large, so it can only be used on some parts. Most of the bushings are made of copper, but there are also plastic bushings. The shaft sleeve is mostly placed in the shaft and supporting structure, and is very close to the supporting structure, only the shaft can rotate on the shaft sleeve. When assembling the shaft and the sleeve, a lubricant is added between the two to reduce the friction generated when they rotate.
